Wrapped Christmas presents piled under a decorated tree

Christmas Gifts For Climbers Under £20

Twenty pounds is an awkward budget. It is too much for tat and not quite enough for gear. So most people give up and buy chalk.

Here is what twenty quid actually gets you from a workshop instead of a warehouse. Real prices, September 2026, everything made by hand from rope that has already caught somebody.

Every climbing gift under £20

Heart keychain, £3. The one that goes first at every market. Buy three.

Climbing hold keychain, £3. A wee hold on their keys. Gets a laugh at the wall.

Loop keychain, £4. The plainest thing I make and the one on my own keys. All the keychains.

Rope coaster, £4. No two match. Rope coasters.

Recycled plastic hexagon coaster, £8. Melted down from milk bottle caps. The first batch was honestly ugly. These ones are not.

Rope bracelet, £10. Made to their wrist size, so find out first. Rope bracelets.

Gift card, from £10. No shame in it. Forma gift card.

Carabiner keychain, £15. A real clip with rope through it. The one people buy for themselves by accident.

Rope earrings, £18. Light, bright, and nobody else at the wall will have the same pair.

What £20 buys handmade, honestly

I am not going to pretend a £3 keychain took me an afternoon. It did not. But it did get cut, sealed, finished and checked by a person, and the rope in it came off a wall somewhere in the UK rather than out of a container.

That is the difference you are buying at this price. Not more product. A different kind of product, with somebody's name on it and a story you can tell while you hand it over.

One rope costs about 46.6 kg of CO2 to make. All of that is already spent. Every keychain on this list is that carbon doing another twenty years of work instead of sitting in a hole in the ground.

Everything under £20, in one place

Made by hand in Aberdeen. Order the made-to-size bits early, December gets daft.

Got more to spend? The rope belts start at £28 and are cut to exact waist. And if they have a dead rope in a cupboard, send it to me and I will make them something out of their own.

Make Waste Useful.
