This Privacy Policy explains how Forma Designs Collective (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit or buy from formadesignscollective.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Forma Designs Collective is a sole trader business operated by George Brown, based in Aberdeen, Scotland. We are the “data controller” responsible for your personal data.

What data we collect

  • Order information: products purchased, order value and order history.
  • Payment information: processed securely by our payment providers (for example Shopify Payments, Shop Pay or PayPal). We do not see or store your full card details.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device information, and how you use our site (collected via cookies — see our Cookie Policy).
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in to our email list.

How and why we use your data

  • To process and deliver your orders and contact you about them — legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • To send marketing emails (such as our Rope List) where you have opted in — legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To improve our website, products and service and to keep our site secure — legal basis: our legitimate interests.
  • To meet legal, accounting and tax obligations — legal basis: legal obligation.

Who we share it with

We only share your data with trusted providers who help us run our business, including Shopify (our e-commerce platform), our payment processors, Klaviyo (email marketing), Judge.me (product reviews) and our delivery couriers. They process your data on our behalf and only for the purposes we specify. We never sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we ensure appropriate safeguards (such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions) are in place.

How long we keep it

We keep order and transaction records for as long as necessary to fulfil your order and to meet legal and tax obligations (generally six years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your data, and the right to data portability.
