Rope earrings light enough that you forget you have them on.

These are cut from climbing rope that has already done its work on the crag. They are light to wear, tough enough to live in a jacket pocket, and the ear wires are surgical steel so they sit comfortably and suit most ears.

Pick your colour and your size. The rope comes to us retired, the sort that would otherwise go to landfill, so every pair carries the marks of the rope it was cut from.

Questions people ask

Will I get the colour I pick?
Yes. Pick blue and you get blue. Climbing rope often has a second colour woven through it, so your pair may have a fleck or a stripe of something else running along it, but the colour you choose is the colour that leads.

What is Surprise Me?
You leave the colour to me and I pick from whatever rope has come in that week. It is usually the most interesting pair in the batch, and it means good rope does not sit waiting for someone to choose it.

Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Not exactly. Each pair is cut by hand from real retired rope, so the pattern is never quite the same twice.

Are they alright for sensitive ears?
The ear wires are surgical steel, which most people get on with, including plenty who react to cheaper metals. If you are unsure, start with a short wear and see how you go.

Are they heavy?
No. Rope weighs very little once it is cut down, so even the Large pair sits light. Most people say they forget they have them in.

Where does the rope come from?
Climbers and climbing centres hand in their retired ropes. Rope gets pensioned off long before it stops being good material, so instead of going in a skip it comes here and gets a second life.

Packaging: it comes in kraft card packaging you can recycle. Small orders are posted in a compostable mailer bag. To be straight with you, that bag is compostable plastic and needs an industrial composting facility, not a home compost bin. Bigger orders go out in cardboard boxes reused from a local logistics company.
